What was your first job in hospitality?
In high school made pizzas at a take and bake place. It was there that I began a lifelong love affair with pepperoni and pineapple pizzas.
What was your last job before Whitfood?
I was a server at STK in midtown
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Rainier, Oregon, a tiny little town on the Columbia River.
What’s your favorite childhood memory of food?
Catching Dungeness crab on the Oregon coast and learning how to clean, cook, and de-shell them; I also learned the joy of de-shelling an entire crab, then eating it by the handful.
What’s your favorite thing to cook on your days off?
Since it’s winter right now, I like making beef and potato stew with a thick slice of buttered toast. It makes my apartment smell great and I get 4 meals out of one pot.
Where’s the next place you want to travel?
I’m hoping to go to Sweden for a wedding and Austria for fun this summer.
If you weren’t working in restaurants, what would you be doing?
Probably living in the woods cooking myself food all day.

I think of myself as pretty un-fictitious.
